Synthetic Sports Field Safety & Maintenance (SSFSM)

If you’ve ever thought synthetic turf is “set it and forget it,” this course is here to change your perspective—in the best way. Designed for sports turf professionals across Canada, it dives into the real-world skills and knowledge needed to properly care for synthetic fields. Whether you’re already managing turf or just looking to build your expertise, you’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of how these systems actually work—and why smart maintenance makes all the difference for performance and safety. Plus, where possible, you’ll get hands-on, on-field demonstrations to bring the classroom learning to life.

We keep things practical and straight to the point, covering everything from what synthetic turf really is (and how it’s evolved) to identifying your specific field type, understanding construction and drainage, and choosing the right maintenance approach. You’ll also get into safety best practices, infill basics, equipment know-how, and how to troubleshoot common issues before they become costly problems. By the end, you’ll feel confident building maintenance plans, spotting potential risks, and keeping your fields in top shape—because great turf doesn’t happen by accident.
